The fourth-year veteran led the team with 26 special teams tackles in 2017 and served as Lachlan Edwards’ punt protector. Sterling signed with the Green & White days before the regular season opener and was released on Oct. 5 before rejoining the team later that month. The Monmouth product played in 11 games last year (one start) and caught six passes for 82 yards. The fourth-year veteran tallied 12 receptions for 110 yards in 19 games for the Jaguars in 2015-16.
The Jets also waived wide receiver Brisly Estime. Estime signed with the team as a 2017 undrafted free agent from Syracuse and landed on injured reserve after he tore his Achilles during OTAs.
