Former Lions DB Coach Worked with HC Aaron Glenn for 3 Seasons in Detroit

Brian Duker Interview-16x9

The Jets have completed an interview with Brian Duker for the club's defensive coordinator position. The interview was conducted virtually, and Duker joined eight other candidates who completed first-round virtual interviews for the post earlier this month.

Duker (36) has spent the last two seasons with the Miami Dolphins as the team's pass game coordinator/secondary coach. Prior to his stint in Miami, Duker spent three seasons with the Detroit Lions and HC Aaron Glenn, serving as the defensive backs coach (2023), safeties coach (2022) and defensive assistant (2021). In 2022, Duker worked closely with Kerby Joseph, who became the first NFL rookie since 2005 to have at least four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in a season. From 2018-20, Duker was with the Baltimore Ravens where he served as a defensive staff assistant/coaching analyst for a season and a defensive coaching analyst for two seasons. Duker began his NFL career as a defensive intern with the Cleveland Browns in 2015 and a defensive analyst with the San Francisco 49ers in 2016. At the collegiate level, he spent time as a graduate assistant in recruiting and defensive quality control at Missouri (2013-14) and as a defensive graduate assistant at Bryant (2011).

The Jets have also completed interviews with Mathieu Araujo, Ephraim Banda, DeMarcus Covington, Daronte Jones, Jim Leonhard, Wink Martindale, Chris Harris and Jim O'Neil for the defensive coordinator position.
