Fullback Southerland Waived

The New York Jets have waived rookie fullback Brannan Southerland. The announcement was made by Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Southerland (6'0", 244), signed as an undrafted free agent on May 1, was a blocking fullback for Georgia. He finished his college career with 83 carries for 171 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns and 35 receptions for 289 yards with five touchdowns.
