Chance to Be Jets Gameday Photographer for a Day

The New York Jets and the New York Film Academy have announced that fans will have the opportunity to photograph the team from the sidelines at a 2012 home game by entering a sweepstakes to be a Sports Media Academy gameday photographer for a day.

The Jets and the New York Film Academy announced in June the launch of the Sports Media Academy, two 16-week hands-on immersion workshops in sports photography and sports broadcasting for sports fans and aspiring media professionals in a real-world sports environment. Fans can enter to win at facebook.com/jets starting Monday, Aug. 27. For more information on the Sports Media Academy and to enroll, visitnyfa.edu/photography-school/sports-photography.

Beginning Sept. 5, the Sports Media Academy will offer students the opportunity to refine their craft and cover the Jets at home games, practices, organized team activities and other team events.

Jets employees and industry veterans Al Pereira, the team's official photographer for over 15 years, and Rich Gentile, senior director of broadcast and multimedia production who is entering his fifth season with the Jets and 16th in the NFL, along with New York Film Academy's award-winning faculty, will provide expert instruction in every aspect of the field. They'll not only teach specialized techniques but also will give insights that can only be learned from decades of professional experience.

The photography course will be offered this fall starting Sept. 5 and the broadcasting class will be offered in spring 2013.
