The Jets will begin Phase 3 of the offseason program Monday, commonly referred to as organized team activities (OTAs).

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has been pleased with the turnout for the first two phases of the offseason program, which began April 7 and were voluntary. Glenn said 90% of the players attended for Phase 1 and roughly 94% in Phase 2.

"I give those guys a lot of credit of understanding like what we're trying to create and just buying in to what we're selling," he said. "When you get a new regime, that's the one thing you want to make sure -- to just get the trust of the players. I do believe with every part of me that these guys know exactly what we're trying to do and the thing is, my verbiage has been very simple from the beginning. As it goes to Phase 3, the verbiage is going to change because we're doing things different because now we're really on the field."

After focusing on strength and conditioning in the first two phases, Glenn's priority now is forming the identity of the 2025 New York Jets.

"Don't ask me [what the identity is] because I'm not going to tell you, but I'm going to start verbalizing that to these guys because we're on the grass and we're competing against each other," he said. "I want those guys to know exactly who we are. I think that's the best way to do it, to teach it in stages instead of putting everything on those guys. They're completely buying in. I give a lot of credit to those guys and I'm happy what they're doing."

Phase 3 is a four-week period that consists of 10 OTAs. Teams can have a maximum of three OTAs in each of the first two weeks and a fourth non-OTA workout is allowed but with Phase 2 rules (no offense vs. defense, no one-on-ones, no helmets).

Live contact is not permitted and players are not allowed to wear shoulder pads, but they can wear helmets. Teams can conduct 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills and players can be at the facility for no more than six hours per day.

OTAs, which are also voluntary, finish with a mandatory minicamp where players are allowed to be at the facility for 10 hours a day and a maximum of 24 hours over the three-day practice period.

Physicals take place on Monday of minicamp week followed by practices Tuesday-Thursday that can total three-and-a-half hours in two of the three sessions. The middle practice is limited to a walkthrough.

The Jets will hold OTA workouts May 20-22, May 28-30 and June 2-5. Mandatory minicamp will take place June 10-12.
