Coach of the Week: Nick Giglio, Red Bank

The New York Jets have announced that Nick Giglio of Red Bank High School in Little Silver, N.J., has been named this week's recipient of the New York Jets High School Coach of the Week Award. For his efforts, Giglio will receive $1,000 to benefit the school's football program and will be presented with a certificate from the Jets.

In its 14th year, the award is given to a coach in the tristate area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school and their student-athletes.

Giglio is in his first season at the helm of the Buccaneers. He has also coached at many high schools in New Jersey, including Point Pleasant Beach, Manalapan, Red Bank Catholic and Rumson-Fair Haven. The Shore Regional alumnus is also a health and physical education teacher at Red Bank High School.

On Saturday, Red Bank defeated Dunellen, 28-6, to end a 17-game winless streak. The Bucs' next opponent will be the Manchester Township Hawks at home on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2:30 p.m.
