The Jets inched closer to the NFL's mandatory 53-player roster limit as they waived-injured CB Dee Milliner and waived TE Jace Amaro.

Milliner appeared in 21 games for the Green & White while totaling 68 tackles, 3 INT and 19 PD. He was slowed this preseason by a hamstring injury.  After playing 13 games as a rookie, Milliner was limited to two games and five games the next two years with Achilles and wrist injuries respectively. The Alabama product was the No. 9 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Amaro led all rookie tight ends in receptions (38) and receiving yards (345). Amaro missed last season with a shoulder injury and he totaled five receptions this preseason. The 6'5", 265-pounder was a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

The Jets released 18 players earlier Saturday and DL Sheldon Richardson will start to serve his one-game NFL suspension at 4 p.m. today.
