Jets Make Two Roster Moves

The New York Jets announced the following: The Jets have signed WR Phil Silva to a Reserve/Future contract; the Jets assigned Silva and S Jamie Thompson to NFL Europa; the Jets waived OG Michael King from the NFL Europa Exempt/Injured list.  The announcements were made by General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Silva, originally signed by the Jets on June 9, 2006 before being cut July 31, was a four-year wide receiver at Division III Rowan College in New Jersey, where he caught 22 touchdown passes.

Thompson was signed to the Jets' active roster off the practice squad on Dec. 10, 2006 and played in three games for the Jets before being put on injured reserve.

Silva is the ninth player the Jets have signed to a Reserve/Future contract. The other signed players are: DE Darrell Adams, OG Adrien Clarke, CB Alphonso Hodge, WR Frisman Jackson, TE Joe Kowalewski, DT Keyonta Marshall, DT Matt McChesney and DT Zarnell Fitch.
