Game Recap-Wk18-at-BUF

The Jets (3-14) closed out the 2025 season in Buffalo, falling to the Bills (12-5), 35-8.

"Obviously, the game was disappointing," HC Aaron Glenn said. "The only thing that I can think about is moving on to next year."

Glenn added: "At the end of the day, we didn't do enough to win enough games."

Buffalo took a 7-0 lead on the first possession, as QB Mitchell Trubisky connected with TE Dawson Knox for a 17-yard score. After a three-and-out by the Jets' offense, the defense came up with a fourth-down stop and put the ball back in the hands of rookie QB Brady Cook. The Jets, however, were unable to capitalize and punted.

The Bills scored on the ensuing possession as RB Ty Johnson took a direct snap and scored from 6 yards out. The Jets were then unable to convert on a fourth-and-1 and Buffalo added another 7 points via a 2-yard pass from Trubisky to RB Ray Davis.

Late in the second quarter, Austin McNamara punted the ball 39 yards, and Arian Smith and Kene Nwangwu teamed up to down the ball at the Buffalo 2-yard line. The Jets entered the locker room at halftime trailing by 21-0.

On the first possession of the second half, the Jets faced a fourth-and-1 from their own 39-yard line but were unable to pick up a first down. Trubisky led an 11-play, 54-yard scoring drive and connected with WR Gabe Davis for a 2-yard score. Buffalo K Matt Prater left the game with a quad injury, and Buffalo converted a 2-point conversion attempt to extend the lead, 29-0.

Late in the third quarter, the Jets delivered a goal-line stand. With a first-and-goal from the 10-yard line, Buffalo made four attempts to score but were stopped. DL Jowon Briggs delivered the final stop, with a TFL of Johnson, to force the turnover on downs.

The Bills scored on their next possession, however, as Trubisky connected with Johnson from 6 yards out. The ensuing 2-point conversion attempt failed.

Cook led a 10-play, 48-yard scoring drive in the fourth quarter. The rookie found FB Andrew Beck for a 2-yard score. It was Beck's second TD reception of the season and the second TD pass of Cook's NFL career. Cook then connected with WR Quentin Skinner for a 2-point conversion. Skinner recorded his first NFL reception earlier in the drive.

"It was a tough one," Cook said. "Just a tough one. They had our number. We didn't execute for most of that game, and it's a lot to learn from.
My reps, my experience that I got, this team's experience that we got this entire year as a whole, we have to learn from it. We have to move on from it. We can't let it happen again."
