Sunday Morning and WR Whittaker Returns

Good Sunday morning from SUNY Cortland. And here's a quick early blog to let you know that after the waiving of Paul Raymond and Chris Pizzotti on Saturday, the Jets are announcing this morning that wide receiver Huey Whittaker has been re-signed.

Whittaker was waived on Wednesday when the Green & White signed FA kicker Parker Douglass. And Huey has experience, with stops on the rosters of the Steelers, Buccaneers and Jaguars and in NFL Europe and the Arena league. Perhaps Huey will achieve career lift with this new lease on life as a member of the Green & White.

The Jets had already filled one of the roster spots after the waivings by signing free agent rookie guard Dennis Conley. Conley is wearing uniform No. 71 at this morning's practice and Whittaker is back in No. 18.

We'll have more for you, of course, after this morning's practice. The afternoon workout at Cortland is for special teams.
