Background/Player Profile
Tyler Shough (6-5, 219), Louisville
Shough, 25, is one of the older prospects in the draft. He threw for 3,195 yards, 23 touchdowns and 6 interceptions, and completed 62.7% of his passes while leading an offense that averaged 36.6 points per game.
Jalen Milroe (6-1, 216), Alabama

He went 21-6 as the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide and created explosive plays through the passing game despite erratic results. The Fit
The Jets have their starter in Justin Fields, 26, and veteran backup Tyrod Taylor, 35, but have a pair of signal-callers in Jordan Travis, 24, and Adrian Martinez, 25, who have not taken a snap in the regular season. Travis, entering his second season, spent his rookie year on the reserve/non-football injury list.
Head coach Aaron Glenn likes the makeup of the room and has expressed his confidence in Fields, but with Taylor entering the final year of his deal, perhaps the Green & White will add another QB.
Where They're Projected in Mock Drafts
Shough: No. 34 (ESPN), No. 75 (CBS)
Milroe: No. 21 (PFF), No. 68 (ESPN)
Howard: No. 90 (ESPN)
McCord: No. 94 (CBS)
Other Players in the Field
There are other popular quarterbacks with college success who are not projected to be drafted in the first round. Ole Miss' Jaxson Dart could be off the board by the time the Jets are on the clock in Round 2, but other options for Day 2 or 3 include Texas' Quinn Ewers, Oregon's Dillon Gabriel and Notre Dame's Riley Leonard.
Ewers, who went 27-9 for the Longhorns and led the team to back-to-back playoff appearances, threw for 6,951 yards, 53 touchdowns and 18 interceptions over the last two seasons. Gabriel's 63 starts in six seasons is the most in FBS history (three at UCF, two at Oklahoma and one at Oregon). He has thrown for at least 3,600 yards and 30 touchdowns each of the last two seasons while completing at least 69% of his passes (72.9% in 2024 season). Leonard is an aggressive runner and eight of his rushes this past season went for more than 20 yards. He was a team captain at Notre Dame and Duke and finished with a 27-10 record as a starter.
