Three Cheers for 'Making the Squad'

You could call it "American Football Idol" or "So You Think You Can Dance on Turf." Newyorkjets.com's very own reality show, "Making the Squad – Episode 1," is now live on our Website.

This is the first of four episodes in which we follow five young women in the process of trying to make the New York Jets Flight Crew, one of the hottest cheerleading squads in the NFL. In this first segment we get to know the candidates, their backgrounds and their experience before the start of this year's Flight Crew auditions.

The auditions, in fact, begin Saturday with the preliminary round, continue Sunday with the semifinals, and conclude May 7, with all auditions being conducted by Flight Crew director Denise Garvey at New Meadowlands Stadium.

The show is being produced by the members of the Jets' Broadcasting & Multimedia Production Department — Rich Gentile, Chris Ubbens, Chad Freeman and James Castronuovo. They did an outstanding job on the first episode and their skills, combined with the dancing, cheering and emotions of the five Flight Crew candidates as they attempt to make this year's squad, will provide poignant viewing all the way through the final episode, which will go live the second week of May after Garvey selects the squad.
