The New York Jets will honor the United States Armed Forces at our eighth annual Jets Military Appreciation Day at this weekend's game. The National Anthem will be performed by Marine Sergeant Elizabeth Quinones. Our nation's colors will be presented by a Joint Forces Color Guard, and a giant American flag will be unfurled by members of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy in a pregame ceremony.
Joining the team captains for the coin toss will be the mother and brother of Smithtown, N.Y., native Lt. Michael Murphy, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force that can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States.
