NICOLE: Spirit – and Hope – for the Holidays

Hey, Jets Nation! It's Flight Crew Cheerleader Nicole checking in, and I'm so excited about Sunday's win at MetLife Stadium. Although we fell back for a few weeks, the pride for my team stays strong and I'm always hopeful for the wild card to be dealt. The 2009 season is still fresh in my mind, with a 9-7 record and the postseason opportunity was suddenly born.

I will be the first to admit that winning is always more fun, but I have to confess, I don't believe any other team could have brought me on this kind of journey over my years with the organization. Jets football is different from any other. The fans know it, the media knows it, and that's what makes the team all the more intriguing. Win or lose, I am proud to wear green. As a fan I know my support counts and could have an effect on the mental aspect of the game.

There is a lot of young talent on the team this year and they're learning the system on both sides of the ball. As they gain more experience, they can create a better chance of winning throughout the rest of the season and build a foundation for next year. With a new offensive coordinator and a mix of new talent, it will take some time to get it right. It may not be what everyone would necessarily like to see after back-to-back years in the AFC Championship Game, but if we can build a solid unit that can become a top contender in this league, then it is all worth it.

The Flight Crew has already begun working on our traditional Holiday Halftime Show for the San Diego game — you won't want to miss it! We really enjoy bringing some additional holiday spirit to all of our loyal fans.

See you there, and Go JETS!

Love,

Nicole
