A strong defensive performance kept the Jets (0-6) in a close game with the Broncos (4-2) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, but the team was unable to capitalize on opportunities and fell, 13-11.

"Disappointing game," HC Aaron Glenn said. "I thought our guys fought their asses off. Obviously, wasn't good enough. It's tough being close. At some point, we've got to finish one of these here. That's been something we talk about -- how we finish. And we didn't finish how we needed to go get this win."

The Jets' defense provided a spark early and sustained pressure throughout Sunday's loss. On the first possession of the game, the unit recorded its first takeaway of the 2025 season. On third down, Broncos QB Bo Nix connected with WR Troy Franklin for what would have been a Denver first down, but CB Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was there to punch the ball out. S Andre Cisco recovered the fumble and the Jets' offense took over in Denver territory.

Despite the advantageous field position, the Jets were unable to find the end zone, and a 52-yard FG by K Nick Folk gave the team an early 3-0 lead.

The Broncos answered with a 57-yard FG of their own on the ensuing possession.

"I thought our defense played well," Glenn said. "This was probably our best game, our defense. Got the takeaway. … There were a lot of good things -- from a defensive perspective and from a special teams' perspective -- that we're going to build on. We're going to go back to the drawing board and get some things cleaned up on the offensive side."

RB Kene Nwangwu wasted no time making his presence known in his first game back after missing 4 consecutive contests. Nwangwu recorded a 72-yard kick return to set up the Jets' offense on the 24-yard line, but despite the field position, the unit was unable to fully capitalize on the opportunity. The Jets settled for a FG and retook the lead, 6-3.

It was on the next drive that the Broncos scored a TD to make the score 10-6, as Nix connected with TE Nate Adkins for 16 yards.

The Jets' offense struggled to find a rhythm offensively throughout Sunday's loss, and the unit did not record a first down until late in the first half. Just before the two-minute warning, QB Justin Fields connected with WR Josh Reynolds to move the chains. A few plays later, the Jets were facing a fourth-and-1 and were in punt formation, but RB Breece Hall took the snap and snuck forward for the first down. The Jets were ultimately unable to capitalize on the conversion, though, as the clock drained and the team entered the locker room trailing, 10-6.

The Jets got the ball to start the second half, and the offense strung together a 10-play, 37-yard drive that culminated with another FG, which cut the deficit to 1. The defense then forced a three-and-out on the ensuing Denver possession, but the Jets' offense was unable to come away with points after getting the ball back.

It was Nwangwu who made another key play next, this time on special teams. The RB downed a 42-yard punt on the 2-yard line to pin Denver deep in its own territory. On the next play, Denver was flagged for holding in the end zone, which resulted in a safety and 2 points for the Jets. The Green & White took an 11-10 lead.

Struggles on offense continued to plague the Jets for the remainder of the game, though, as the unit was unable to move the ball down the field and ultimately did not score again in the defeat. The Broncos added a FG in the fourth quarter, which was enough to come away with the victory.

"We have to play complementary football," Fields said. "[The defense] had a hell of a game today and the offense has to do a better job. … All in all, we did not have a good game on the offensive side of the ball.

"We've got to keep going, there's no other option. There's 11 games left. There's no other option."

Edge Jermaine Johnson returned to the lineup Sunday and made his presence known, recording the team's only sack of QB Bo Nix late in the fourth quarter. … The Jets' defense did not allow a single passing yard in the third quarter. … CB Qwan'tez Stiggers and LB Cam Jones left the game in the first half and did not return.
