Short Biography:
Marty Lyons was drafted by the New York Jets in the first round (14th overall) of the 1979 NFL Draft. Over his 12-year career with the Jets, he played in 147 games and recorded 43 sacks and became a key member of the "Sack Exchange" which was the teams dominate front four in 1981 and 1882. He was inducted into the Jets' Ring of Honor in 2013. After retiring from playing and hanging up his cleats, Lyons spent 22 seasons as a radio analyst for the Jets, transitioning to an ambassador role in 2023. Off the field, Lyons is known for his charitable work through the Marty Lyons Foundation, which has granted over 8,000 wishes to terminally ill children since 1982.
