Karen Preston was a Jets fan before she entered the world. Born into a family of season ticket holders dating back to the days of Shea Stadium, she still attends the games each week with her family.
Given her loyalty to the team, you might have thought bleeding green would have been a dating prerequisite. But, despite her husband's loyalties to the Chicago Bears, her family has welcomed him in with open arms (and a not so secret mission to convert his allegiance to the Green & White.)
The household battle will continue at least once more as the Jets take on the Bears on Sunday, November 19th. Karen will attend the game with her father, sister and husband (who will don the opposing team's colors).
Beyond her immediate family, she will be surrounded by the familiar faces of fellow fans, many of whom she has come to know after spending her Sunday's with them for so many years.
What better way to celebrate her birthday? Well, if watching her favorite team among her family and friends isn't enough, Preston, as the October winner of the Show us Your Green photo contest, is in for a special birthday treat: she will see her winning photo on the scoreboard during the game.
But, that's not all. She will also take home assorted prizes in addition to some new Jets merchandise. And, Preston's winning photo will be featured on an upcoming episode of Jets Extra Points TV Show which airs on SportsNet New York.
This is Preston's second time entering the *Show Us Your Green *contest, but her first win. Though she previously came up short, this time around her Jets-o-lantern beat out some stiff competition.
