Father Doesn't Always Know Best

Lucky for the New York Jets that as a young boy, Michael Perpente didn't always listen to his father. Had he, he'd be a lifelong Giants fan today.

Instead, Perpente has been a loyal Jets fan for more than 17 years, attending his first game with a friend and his friend's dad in the early Eighties.

Though he broke with his own family tradition when he was a young boy, his wife and their two young children are as committed as he is to the Green & White.

After years cheering on the team from the sidelines as a wait-list member, Perpente's dream of becoming a season ticket holder finally came true in 2002. Today, he and his 4-year-old son, Tommy, go to almost all the games with the same group of fathers and sons each week. His wife, Susanne, and their 2-year-old daughter, Megan, cheer on from their home in Helmetta, N.J.

What does he wish for next? Meeting his favorite player, Mike Nugent.
