Fans craving football in April can satiate their appetite with the NFL Draft, which will commence in just over one week, and the schedule release.
As both fans and media comb through the schedules for regular-season storylines, six of the Jets' final seven games feature familiar foes for the newcomers at 1 Jets Drive.
Adam Gase
The Jets' new head coach will surely circle Nov. 3 (Week 9) on his calendar when his team travels to South Florida to face his former club. The Green & White will welcome the Dolphins to MetLife Stadium five weeks later on Dec. 8, which has the makings of a cold second meeting between the AFC East foes.
Jamison Crowder
The Jets will travel to Washington for the third time in four years, but this will be the first regular-season matchup between the teams since 2015. Wide receiver Jamison Crowder will be a visitor for the first time at FedEx Field as he spent his first four seasons with the Redskins before joining the Green & White this offseason.
Kelechi Osemele
Left guard Kelechi Osemele, whom the Jets acquired in a trade with the Raiders in March, will welcome his former team to his new home in Week 12 (Nov. 24). Osemele spent three seasons with the Silver & Black after starting his career in Baltimore, where the Jets will play in Week 15 (Dec. 12). Since leaving the Ravens in 2016, the 6'5", 330-pound mauler will have played against his original team in four straight seasons.
C.J. Mosley
Another former Raven, linebacker C.J. Mosley, makes his return to M&T Bank Stadium for the first time wearing different colors in Week 15 on Thursday Night Football, the Jets' third and final primetime game.
"To go back there, especially at night time, it's always a fun stadium to play in," Mosley told reporters Wednesday. "It'll be fun to play against the offense that I've seen for a long time along with some of my good friends, teammates and coaches. It'll be a great time and hopefully [we'll] come out with a win. That's the plan."
Le'Veon Bell
As if running back Le'Veon Bell had a say in the Jets' 2019 opponents, Bell will face his former club in Week 16, Dec. 22, in a game that's sure to garner a lot of media attention. It'll mark the first time the Green & White will host the Steelers in December since 2003 when Curtis Martin, whom Bell admired growing up and modeled his game after, tied a franchise-record 228 scrimmage yards in a snowstorm.
Other
Earlier in the season, defensive coordinator Gregg Williams will coach from the opposite sideline from his former team as the Jets play the Browns on Monday Night Football in Week 2 (Sep. 16).
