The Drama Builds on 'Making the Squad'

Calling all "Making the Squad" enthusiasts: The newyorkjets.comreality show depicting the building of the 2011 New York Jets Flight Crew through the eyes and the dance moves of some of the candidates is driving toward a conclusion but there are still more Webisodes to bring you.

The next show in fact will be going live this evening on the Website. It will bring you the six young women whom you've gotten to know through the series' first three shows — Linda, Ashley, Alana, Gina and newcomer Grace, plus Facebook "wild card" Krystil, who got to advance directly to the final round of competition — as they prepared for last weekend's Final Auditions at New Meadowlands Stadium.

The pressure and emotions are starting to rise as the finals beckon. All the candidates are getting their minds and bodies right for the next leg of the qualification process, and Flight Crew director Denise Garvey confers with each one on what she needs to do to survive and thrive in the finals and to be able to call herself a member of the top cheerleading group in New York pro sports.

"Some young women prepare their whole lives for this opportunity, beginning when they are very young by studying dance in local studios and then progressing to high school and college dance and cheer teams," Garvey said. "For many women, dancing for the Jets marks the pinnacle of their dance career, and making the Flight Crew realizes a dream come true.  For others, this is the end of a long road of hoping, preparing and dreaming of stepping out on the field in green and white and dancing for thousands at the Meadowlands."

Check out this Webisode tonight or over the weekend, then come back later next week for the start of the competition when as many as 40 young women will begin to separate themselves from the group and move closer to ... making the squad.
