Throughout the season, NewYorkJets.com will provide a Stock Report focusing on the Jets' upcoming matchup.
This week's report features players and/or themes that are trending before the Green & White take on the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium in Week 10.
š QB Justin Fields
HC Aaron Glenn has yet to name a starting quarterback for the Jets game against the Browns Sunday. If he, however, chooses to go with QB Justin Fields, he will get the veteran signal caller coming off one of the best games of his career.
Fields led the Jets to a victory over the Bengals in Week 8, 39-38, his first win as a starter in which the opponent scored more than 21 points. The former Bears and Steelers signal-caller completed 66% of his pass attempts for 244 yards and 1 touchdown.
Fields has been elite at protecting the ball this season. He is the only qualified QB (min. 40 attempts) to not throw an interception in 2025. He has gone 262 attempts without a pick, with his last pick coming in Week 3 in 2024 vs. Chargers when he was a member of the Steelers.
Protecting the ball will be key against a Browns defense that ranks 10th in takeaways and has forced 7 turnovers in the last two weeks.
š Returner/WR Isaiah Williams
Last week the NFL named Isaiah Williams the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after the Green & White's win against Cincinnati. Williams' contributions in Week 8, however, didn't end with the return game.
Williams had 132 yards on 5 kickoff returns and 38 yards on 3 punt returns. His 170 total kick-return yards tied for eighth-most in a game this season.
Williams' biggest return came in fourth quarter, a 21-yard punt return to the Jets' 41-yard line that set up the game-tying TD pass from RB Breece Hall to TE Mason Taylor. Nick Folk's PAT gave the Jets their first victory of the season.
"Isaiah did a hell of a job returning the ball," HC Aaron Glenn said. "⦠Now he's in the groove of understanding exactly what we want when it comes to the returner."
The third-year wideout also totaled 3 receptions for 31 yards, 2 went for first downs, and took an end around 25 yards. Williams could see his role continue to grow against the Browns, who rank 17th in total points allowed (184).
š Browns' Offense
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski announced Monday that he would be turning over play-calling duties to OC Tommy Rees following Cleveland's Week 9 bye. Stefanski cited a need to create explosive plays and "fix areas of trouble" as the reasons for the move.
Over the first 8 games, the Browns (2-6) rank 31st in total yards per game (263.5) and 30th in points per game (15.8). The unit has struggled to find a rhythm since-traded veteran QB Joe Flacco was benched for rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, a third-round pick in April's NFL Draft (No. 94), in Week 4.
In Gabriel's 4 starts, Cleveland is 1-3 and the Oregon product has completed 59% of his passes for 175.5 yards per game, 5 TDs and 2 interceptions.

š New York's Secondary
New York will have to replace 2 starters in its secondary when it takes on the Browns. Monday, HC Aaron Glenn ruled S Andre Cisco out for the season with a shoulder injury and Tuesday, GM Darren Mougey dealt All-Pro CB Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts.
The empty shoes left behind by Cisco and Gardner are expected to be filled by some combination of safeties Isaiah Oliver and Tony Adams, and rookie CB Azareye'h Thomas, a third-round pick (No. 73) in April's NFL Draft.
Oliver and Adams are veterans with 83 career starts between them. Thomas, 21, made his first start in Week 8 against the Bengals. He played 59 defensive snaps and All-Pro WR Ja'Marr Chase to 2 receptions for 24 yards, according to Pro Football Focus.
