Throughout the season, NewYorkJets.com will provide a Stock Report focusing on the Jets' upcoming matchup.
This week's report features players and/or themes that are trending before the Green & White take on the Buffalo Bills in Week 18.
📈 Austin McNamara
Jets P Austin McNamara ranks second in the NFL this season in punts landed inside the 20-yard line, only 2 behind the Falcons' Bradley Pinion. Since Week 9, McNamara has led the NFL in that category with 19 and is aiming toward taking over the No. 1 spot in Week 18.
Punts inside the 20 are not the only category McNamara is among the best in, he is also No. 6 in the NFL in punting net, No. 2 in hang time and No. 2 in punts returned percentage.
"They're the reason why I'm here, and so I'm very grateful to be here and be one of their guys," McNamara said earlier this season. "I'm just trying to do my part, and help the team out, put us in the best position possible to win. So it makes me motivated."
📈 James Cook & Josh Allen Chasing History
Bills RB James Cook and QB Josh Allen have been an unstoppable duo in the red zone and near the goal line this season The pair have combined for 26 rushing TDs and are on a pace to potentially tie or pass the Chiefs' Trent Green and Priest Holmes for the most rushing TDs by a starting QB & RB duo in a season with 29.
In addition, Cook and Allen have put together strong individual seasons for the Bills, each earning Pro Bowl selection and ranking among the league's best in several statistical categories.
Allen, the 2024 NFL MVP, has completed 69.3% of his passes for 25 TDs and 10 interceptions while adding 14 rushing TDs, No. 3 in the NFL. While Cook is No. 2 in the NFL in rush attempts (307) and No. 1 in rushing yards (1,606).
Both will pose significant challenges for the Jets as they try to end the season and begin 2026 with a victory.
"He's one of those guys that can will his team to victory," Jets HC Aaron Glenn said. "Our will has to be stronger than his will, and that's a challenge in itself because of who he is."
📉 Aaron Glenn Puts an Emphasis on Takeaways
Heading into their final game of the season, the Jets rank last in takeaways (4) and have yet to pull down an interception, making them first team in NFL history to go 16 games without one. The Green & White, however, have forced 3 takeaways in the last 4 games.
As always, HC Aaron Glenn is placing extra emphasis on creating takeaways heading into this week's game vs. Buffalo and is not focused on how they come.
"I just want a takeaway," Glenn said Wednesday. "If it's an interception, if it's a fumble, and I understand exactly what you're asking. I mean, it's part of who I am as being a defensive back, but just getting a takeaway, going out there competing, playing good football against a good team, that's what I'm worried about."
