Throughout the season, NewYorkJets.com will provide a Stock Report focusing on the Jets' upcoming matchup.

This week's report features players and/or themes that are trending before the Green & White take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.

📈 Super Special Teams
The Jets special teams have been one of the best and most consistent units in the league this season, graded as the No. 4 unit in the NFL this season by Pro Football Focus with the highest DVOA (defense-adjusted value over average) in the league at 12.4%.

And early on in HC Aaron Glenn's tenure, New York's special teams have set the standard for how he wants his entire team to play.

"Those guys going out there and executing really, really well," Glenn "So, man, that's something that we're trying to replicate in all three phases."

Punter Austin McNamara, kicker Nick Folk and returners Isaiah Williams and Kene Nwangwu have led the way.

McNamara, the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for November, has been lights-out, landing 24 punts inside the 20-yard line this season, No. 3 in the NFL, which is 42% of his punts, good for 10th best. Folk missed his first kick of the season in Week 13, and for the season is 23 of 24, including a perfect 17 of 17 inside 49 yards. And finally, Williams and Nwangwu have combined for 3 return TDs this season, 2 punt returns by Willams and 1 KO return by Nwangwu.

A lot of credit for the group's success, however, has gone to first-year coordinator Chris Banjo, a 10-year NFL veteran who last played in 2023.

"Banjo is a former player, so those guys can relate to him really, really well," Glenn said. "And he was one of those guys that was a true special teams demon, so he understands how that part of our team has to operate in and out.

📈 Jaguars Deep Pass Attack
The Jaguars have won 4 games in a row and 5 of their last 6 games and as a result have moved into sole possession of first place in the AFC South. Over their recent winning streak, QB Trevor Lawrence has unlocked the team's deep pass attack, posting a 13.1 average depth of target since Week 11, best in the NFL.

"[The deep passing] has been huge, huge," Jags HC Liam Coen said after the Week 14 game. "When you can attack every blade of grass, it releases something and is something that, ultimately, we want to be able to do."

In the Jaguars' Week 14 win against the Colts, Lawrence completed passes of 26, 29, 30, 37 and 39 yards. WRs Brian Thomas Jr., a Pro Bowler in 2024, and Jakobi Meyers, traded from the Raiders earlier this season, each reeled in multiple grabs of 15-plus yards.

Since Week 12, Lawrence has had 18 completions of 20-plus yards, No. 3 in the league, and had 3 tosses of 40-plus yards. And overall, that recent success has resulted in a scoring uptick -- 30.3 points per game since the Jags' Week 8 bye.

📉 Third Downs
The Jets struggled on third down in their Week 14 loss to the Dolphins, 34-10, converting once on 12 attempts. It was a disappointing result for HC Aaron Glenn, who believes the group has improved as of late, and took a step back last Sunday.

"This game was definitely disappointing," Glenn said postgame. "Really hard to try to put this in words. The only thing that I can say, I didn't have these guys ready to play and that was obvious by the way that we went out there and played."

In the 3 games prior to Sunday's defeat, the Jets offense was 19 of 41 on third down, good for No. 4 in the NFL over that span.
