The Jets have signed fourth-year veteran free agent safety Matthias Farley and have waived safety Santos Ramirez.

Farley (5'11", 209) comes to the Jets from Indianapolis, where he played for three seasons before he was waived earlier this week. He was first signed as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame by Arizona after the 2016 NFL Draft. He was a final cut by the Cardinals that September but was acquired off waivers by the Colts.

In his three seasons with Indy, Farley played in 37 games (16 starts, all the past two seasons), had three interceptions, 11 pass defenses, two forced fumbles and a recovery, and 118 defensive tackles.

Ramirez (6'2", 204) was signed by the Jets out of Arkansas as an undrafted free agent after the April draft. He was waived on Aug. 21, then re-signed six days later. He played in three of the Jets' four preseason games, totaling 93 plays and nine tackles on defense and got 18 more snaps on special teams.
