KAYLA: More Memories for a Whirlwind Life

Hey, Jets fans! It's Kayla here, one of the members of the Flight Crew. I still can't get over our great victory over the Patriots!! It was such an incredible game and I can't stop thinking about it.

Other moments that I constantly replay in my head are my experiences so far as a rookie on the Flight Crew. As I reflect on final auditions back in May and the events following it, I still cannot believe how that one day was the start of the whirlwind life I now lead.

"Joining us for her first year is number 108, Kayla!" Those words were what I have been waiting for my whole life. As cliché as it may sound, tears of joy rolled down my face, because I have been dancing since I was 4 and have worked so hard to get an opportunity to perform on a large stage. Little did I know it would one day be in front of 80,000 fans.

Ever since I was little, I have craved for any chance to entertain a crowd — just imagine me in footy pajamas rocking out to Michael Jackson for my family! I was simply born this way and since day one have had a great support system embracing my goals.

After my fate was decided at auditions, we went straight into training camp where each day is a fight to prove that you do deserve the spot given to you on this team. I pushed myself harder and harder each practice to secure the privilege of being able to step out on that field.

All of the sweat and dedication paid off when on opening day I got to walk out in front of a packed stadium alongside all of the other beautiful and talented ladies on the team. There are no words to describe what it feels like being surrounded by screaming Jets fans and having the best seats in the house for the game on the field.

Becoming a professional dancer has been a long journey, and being a Flight Crew cheerleader has so far been a dream come true that I am truly thankful for. I hope to continue building these incredible memories. And as a last note ... J-E-T-S, JETS JETS JETS!
