Short Biography:
Tony Richardson was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent after the 1994 NFL Draft. Prior to joining the New York Jets in 2008, Richardson played for the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Minnesota Vikings. Over his 17-year NFL career, he appeared in 234 games (132 starts), rushing for 1,727 yards and 15 touchdowns on 429 attempts. He also recorded 210 receptions for 1,543 yards and nine touchdowns. He was a 3x Pro Bowler (2003, 2004, 2007) and was named 2x Second Team All-Pro (2004, 2007). In 2016, Richardson was inducted into the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame. While he was with the Jets, he was a recipient of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, in 2008 and 2010, which recognizes a player's off the field community service as well as his playing excellence. Off the field, Tony volunteers his time consistently to support and meet with military personnel to honor the sacrifices made by his father Ben Richardson, US Army Sergeant Major Vietnam Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient and Drill Sergeant and his Sister Shon Richardson, Master Sergeant for 28 years with 4 deployments. Recently, Richardson was the Jets Salute to Service nominee (2024).
