JACQUELINE: Tips on Managing Your Time

Hey, Jets fans! It's Jacqueline here from your 2010 Flight Crew Cheerleaders checking in. This season has been great so far, and with a 3-1 record we are in the lead in our division and have a lot to cheer about. Although when we're not out on the sidelines cheering on the Green & White, we still keep busy.

Many of us are still in school, while others have full-time jobs and are in their careers, so time managing is key! I'm currently a dance teacher and senior at William Paterson University majoring in communications and nutrition, so being able to manage my time is something that I constantly deal with.

Another thing that I have just gotten into is background acting. Recently I have been on the shows "Gossip Girl" and "White Collar" and it has been such a great experience. As an aspiring actress I have been able to learn about the television industry and the production that goes into making a show, and I have met great people along the way.

With everything I have been involved in, things can get hectic, so here a few tips on how to become successful and stay that way in the field of your choice.

Don't wait until the last minute!

Life is so much less stressful if you learn to manage your time and do things right away instead of waiting until it is too late. When it comes to dance and school, I try not to procrastinate so I'm not left cramming for an exam or going over a new routine at the last minute and feeling unprepared.

Take one thing at a time!

If you are bombarded with a ton of work or school assignments, simply take one thing at a time. That way you are not stressed out and feeling overwhelmed. Trying to do too many things at once will only get you flustered.

Don't agree to something you cannot commit to!

If you are really busy and cannot handle what you are doing already, do not take on more responsibilities or agree to do something if you know it will be nearly impossible to do.

Don't give up!

I have always felt that if you are persistent and want something bad enough you can achieve it, but it is not just going to fall into your lap. You have to go after it. I try to live my life that way and that has resulted in some amazing opportunities and experiences I have been lucky to have.

Hope these tips have been helpful, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the game!
