ELIZABETH: Dance in the Big Apple

You can take the football season away from the cheerleader, but you will never take the cheerleader away from the football season. In heart and spirit, every one of my teammates and I are still craving the rush of adrenaline that only a home game at MetLife Stadium can dish out. This consuming dream drives us to continue our passion for performing for the ever-faithful Jets Nation.

After only a couple of weeks into the offseason, I already missed my teammates and attending our rehearsals in the city. I knew I wanted to continue my technique training, stay in good physical condition, and feed that addiction of going into the city to dance. Flight Crew Cheerleader Brie and I decided to enlist in a 6-week dance workshop at Steps on Broadway in New York City.

I can't think of a better way to break a sweat than dancing in the Big Apple! New York City offers some of the highest trained professional dance instructors in the world, and if you are looking for a place to train, these centers are a few of the cream of the crop:

■ Broadway Dance Center

■ Steps on Broadway

■ Dance New Amsterdam

■ Mark Morris Dance Group

Denise, the Director of the Flight Crew Cheerleaders expects the best and emphasizes that one can always improve her performance. In fact, improvement is a requirement for returning veterans in each year's auditions.

The Jets football season is over for now, but the Flight Crew Cheerleaders are working hard in the offseason to bring even more talent and energy to the sidelines for 2013-14.

Cheers to that, Jets fans!
