Hey, Jet fans! It's Flight Crew cheerleader Anne-Marie. What an exciting win we had on Sunday against the Lions! I sat on the edge of my seat the whole game, but our team turned things around for a great ending!
This year the Flight Crew has done so many exciting things. We started the season off with an amazing trip to Aruba with 25 of the girls to shoot our 2011 Swimsuit Calendar. If you haven't seen it, you need to pick one up! What a truly unforgettable trip that was. It amazes me how much our team has grown and all the new and exciting opportunities that come our way. I am very blessed to be a part of this organization for the past three seasons. We are always so busy with charities and appearances, you never know what will come up next!
As if things couldn't get any better, we found out that Mexico City has invited eight of the Flight Crew Cheerleaders for a weeklong stay! I am so excited and honored to have been chosen for this trip. Our Jets fans mean the world to me. And having the opportunity to travel outside of the country to reach those fans will be a feeling like none other. The NFL is huge down in Mexico, and many of those fans don't have the opportunity to come see their favorite team or experience NFL events that take place across the country all the time.
Here's an interesting fact: In 2005, the Cardinals played the 49ers at Mexico City's Azteca Stadium with the largest attendance for a regular-season game in NFL history — the attendance was 103,467!
The Flight Crew will be doing various appearances and performances throughout the city. I can't wait to experience the culture down there with my teammates. In case you didn't know, Mexican food is one of my favorite things to eat!! I will bring my camera to document all the fun and cultural things we get to see and do. I can't wait to share it with you!
