Nick Sabella

Assistant Director, Football Administration

Biography

NICK SABELLA, now in his fifth season with the New York Jets, enters his second year as assistant director, football administration, after initially starting as manager, football administration. In his role, Sabella's responsibilities include offering support in matters regarding the planning and execution of salary cap management, player contract negotiations and structuring, as well as compliance with the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and NFL Rules.

Before joining the Jets, Sabella spent six seasons working for the Chicago Bears as a football administration assistant and then football administration coordinator. In those roles, his responsibilities included matters relating to player contracts, the strategic planning of player compensation budgets and team's salary cap, while serving as a liaison between the NFL and club on CBA related issues.

Sabella began his professional football career as a legal intern while in law school for the New Orleans Saints before interning in the football administration departments for the Jets (2010) and Washington Commanders (2011). He also worked for the National Football League Management Council, serving as a law clerk and labor operations assistant.

Sabella was born on Long Island, NY, and raised in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame, majoring in economics and English. Sabella went on to receive his Juris Doctorate with a certificate in sports law from Tulane University School of Law. Sabella is a member of the Florida State Bar and serves on the Tulane Sports Law Advisory Board. He lives in Florham Park, NJ, with his wife, Samantha.
