Mike Nicolini

Head Strength & Conditioning Coach

Biography

Mike Nicolini is in his first season with the New York Jets after joining the athletic care and performance department as the head strength & conditioning coach on March 11, 2021. For Nicolini, this is his fourth season in the NFL following three seasons with San Francisco.

Prior to the 49ers, Nicolini spent seven years (2011-17) at San Jose State, the last three as a lead athletic performance coach.

Before joining San Jose State, Nicolini played defensive back at the University of Redlands (2007-10), where he appeared in 36 games and registered 224 tackles, 31 passes defensed, 10 interceptions, four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles, and was named DIII AFCA First Team All American & the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a senior in 2010.

Nicolini earned his bachelor's in exercise science from Redlands in 2011 and his master's in kinesiology from San Jose State in 2013.

He is currently engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Samantha.
