ROBBIE PATON enters his first season with the New York Jets as director, player personnel, after spending the last eight seasons with the Denver Broncos, most recently serving as a regional scout in charge of the Southeast region.
After starting in Denver as a personnel intern in 2017, Paton received four promotions in his first five seasons with the organization, rising to Scouting Assistant (2018), then College/Pro scout (2019), then Scouting Coordinator (2021), and finally National Scout (2022-2025).
He was part of a Denver front office that drafted four All-Pro and five Pro Bowl players since 2017 (LB Nik Bonitto, Quinn Meinerz, LB Bradley Chubb, WR Marvin Mims Jr., CB Patrick Surtain II, WR Courtland Sutton). Surtain II, a two-time AP All-Pro selection, became the second player in franchise history to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors last season (2024).
A graduate of the University of San Diego where he studied business administration, Paton began his college career as a safety at UCLA before transferring. He worked as a defensive backs coach for his high school alma mater, Loyola (Los Angeles), before returning to UCLA as a scouting analyst (2015-16).
Paton's uncle, George, is the general manager of the Denver Broncos.
