Jordan Burton enters his fifth season with the New York Jets and his second as a college scout. He first joined the Jets as a seasonal assistant, also spending time as a personnel assistant

Prior to becoming a college scout, Burton served one season as an NFS college scout, where he was responsible for scouting the Northeast Region of the country, specifically providing teams a part of NFS with firsthand information through both the spring and fall.

This offseason (2026), Burton was part of a scouting staff that delivered three first round picks for just the third time in franchise history, with the selections of EDGE David Bailey, tight end Kenyon Sadiq, and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.

Before joining the Jets, Burton served as a recruiting prospect analyst for his alma mater, Oklahoma State University. During his time in Stillwater, Burton oversaw the day-to-day recruitment of linebackers, as well as assisting in the day-to-day recruiting prep of Defensive Coordinator Jim Knowles.

Burton earned his Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2016, where he played linebacker for two seasons, earning AP First-Team All-Big 12 in his first season playing in the FBS. Prior to Oklahoma State, he played two seasons at Stephen F. Austin and one season at Kilgore College.

After earning his degree, Burton played professionally in the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the BC Lions. He also spent time in camp with the Chicago Bears following the 2017 NFL draft.

The Longview, Texas native currently resides in Florham Park, NJ, with his beloved shoe collection.
