Biography
Cameron Davis enters his second season with the New York Jets as the assistant defensive line/outside linebackers coach, adding outside linebacker responsibilities in 2026. Davis joined Aaron Glenn's staff in February 2025 after serving in the same role for three seasons with the Detroit Lions (2022–24) and spending nearly a decade at the collegiate level (2013–21).
Last season (2025), Davis was part of a defensive staff that produced the Jets' first top‑10 third‑down defense since 2018. Under his guidance, EDGE Will McDonald IV recorded a team‑high 8.0 sacks, becoming just the fifth Jet to post at least 8.0 in consecutive seasons since 1982, highlighted by his 4.0+ sacks and nine+ pressures in Week 10, only the sixth player in the past decade to do so.
Davis got his start in the NFL with Glenn and Detroit (2022-24), as the Lions won 36 games, the fourth most in the NFL, and two division titles, marking the first time in franchise history the team won back-to-back division titles. In that span, the defensive line registered the second-most quarterback hits (319), third-most QB pressures (678), and allowed the fifth-lowest rushing yards per game (88.8) in the NFL.
In his first season in Detroit (2022), Davis helped defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson earn Defensive Rookie of the Year honors, after leading all rookies with 9.5 sacks and becoming the first rookie since 1982 to register 9.0+ sacks and three interceptions.
Before his tenure with the Lions, Davis served as the defensive line coach at Lamar University (2020-21), and as a graduate assistant at the University of Kentucky (2019), where he helped two players rank atop the SEC in sacks and tackles for loss. Additionally, Davis held graduate assistant positions at Rice University (2017-18) and Texas A&M (2016).
Davis began his coaching career at Diablo Valley College (2013-14) as an assistant defensive line coach. He also gained experience as a defensive intern for the Arizona Cardinals (2014) and as a public relations intern with the Oakland Raiders (2012-13).
An Oakland, CA native, Davis holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Cal State East Bay (2014) and a master's degree in leadership and management from the University of La Verne (2016).
He is married to his wife, BriAnna, and they have a daughter together.
