The Jets have agreed to a trade with the Patriots, acquiring WR Demaryius Thomas. In exchange, the Green & White will send their 2021 sixth-round pick to New England.

Thomas, who signed with the Pats in the offseason, only played in the preseason finale and registered seven receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. The 2010 first-round pick (No. 22 overall) began the 2018 campaign with the Broncos, was traded to the Texans before he was eventually placed on injured reserve with an Achilles injury. Last season, Thomas recorded 677 yards and five touchdowns on 59 receptions.

For his career, the 6'3", 229-pounder has totaled 688 receptions for 9,330 yards and 62 touchdowns in 132 games. Thomas, a Georgia Tech product, played under Jets head coach Adam Gase from 2010-2014 when Gase was the Broncos' wide receivers coach (2009-12) and offensive coordinator (2013-14). In that timespan, Thomas racked up 5,317 yards and 41 touchdowns on 351 catches.
