Jets Kick Off Season-Long Sports Equipment Drive

Barnum Financial Group, an office of MetLife, and the Foundation for Life to Provide 50 Underserved Children with New Bikes and Helmets at Jaguars Game

Fans Can Donate Equipment to Benefit Youth Served by Up2Us

On August 17th, fifty underserved children will enjoy more than a football game when they attend the New York Jets vs. Jacksonville Jaguars contest at MetLife Stadium. The Jets, in conjunction with A-1 First Class Moving and Storage, are launching the team's season-long Play60 Sports Equipment Drive to benefit Up2Us.  Prior to the game, 50 children aged six to seventeen will receive new bikes and helmets from Barnum Financial Group, an office of MetLife, and the Foundation for Life as part of Barnum's "Bikes for Kids" program. Fans are also encouraged to bring new or gently used sporting equipment to benefit Up2Us affiliated youth sports programs that will be collected between the Pepsi and MetLife Gates upon entering the stadium.

"Bikes for Kids" is an annual program* *hosted by the Foundation for Life, Inc. that provides more than 400 children each year a new bicycle and helmet. Since its inception, Barnum Financial Group and the Foundation for Life have given away more than 1,500 bikes throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey.

As part of Jets Play60, at every home game during the 2013 season the Jets will collect new and gently used sports equipment to benefit Up2Us programs. Up2Us is a nonprofit organization using sports to solve the obesity, youth violence, and educational challenges facing America's youth today.
