GenJets Club Fan of the Year: Kristin

Nothing, not even the cast freshly removed from her broken arm, could keep 11-year-old Kristin from participating in the Generation Jets Football Clinic in June at Hofstra University.

More than 200 kids from the tri-state area arrived at Hofstra to learn football fundamentals taught by current and former players. In addition to participating in football drills, kids had the opportunity to get autographs, take photos and enjoy Generation Jets Fest, an interactive theme park filled with obstacle courses, inflatable activities and rides.

Kristin, winner of this year's Generation Jets Club Fan of the Year contest, was born into a family of season ticket holders and has been a Jets fan for as long as she can remember.

Her compelling essay about why she is the ultimate kid fan, describes a family fully committed to the Green & White: "My parents made my birth announcement and chose my godparents during the tailgate party before the Jets vs. Lions game on December 10th, 1994. ... Naturally my brother and I were both raised with the Jets in our blood."

Kristin spoke with JetsTV at the Generation Jets Football Clinic (see video accompanying this article)* *as well as in a phone interview. What does she most enjoy about being a member of Generation Jets? She enjoys getting school supplies and playing games at the clinic and in the bubble at the Meadowlands before home games. She also enjoys her training camp experience: "GenJets has made training camp memorable because of all the fun activities and special attention we get."

Kristin, her brother and her parents attend all the home games and enjoy getting there early to barbecue and take photos with alumni. She wears her number 28 jersey and enjoys cheering for the team. Already a cheerleader for her hometown football team, she would love to be part of the Jets Flag Crew when she gets a little older.

At her young age she's already met former players such as Kenny Schroy and Wayne Chrebet and current players Erik Coleman, Leon Washington and Curtis Martin. Her favorite player? Laveranues Coles. Of her family she says, "We have an awesome collection of photos, autographs and memorabilia from games and various events sponsored by the Jets."

When the team's on the road, Kristin is still a committed fan: "If the Jets are away or if I can't go to the game, you can find me fixed to the tube until the last second on the clock."

Congratulations, Kristin, for winning this year's Generation Jets Club Fan of the Year contest. Thanks for all of your support and continue to root for the Green & White!
