The Jets (1-3) return home to MetLife Stadium today for the first of three consecutive home games, against Denver (2-2). And the Green & White have a couple of simple goals: Get the homestand off on a winning foot, end their three-game losing streak, and extend the Broncos' losing skids to three straight overall and nine of 10 on the road since the start of the 2017 season.

As announced Friday, the Jets will be without starting CB Trumaine Johnson, who suffered a quadriceps injury in Thursday's practice. CB Buster Skrine will get the start for "Tru" and CB Juston Burris will be active for the first time in four games. Also inactive is new Jets addition Tarell Basham. The LB was acquired on waivers from the Colts late in the week. Rookie LB Frankie Luvu is active.

The other five players on the Jets' inactive list are repeats from last week's inactives at Jacksonville. The full list:

  • WR Charone Peake
  • CB Trumaine Johnson
  • CB Derrick Jones
  • G Dakota Dozier
  • TE Neal Sterling
  • LB Tarell Basham
  • DL Folorunso Fatukasi

And Denver's inactives, which include starting RT Jason Veldheer but do not include P Marquette King, who was placed on IR (first-year man Colby Wadman will do the punting):

  • QB Kevin Hogan
  • CB Tramaine Brock
  • S Shamarko Thomas
  • LB Alexander Johnson
  • DE DeMarcus Walker
  • T Jason Veldheer
  • G Sam Jones

The Jets are wearing their green jerseys and green pants for the fourth time under head coach Todd Bowles. In green/green, they defeated Baltimore in '16 and Cleveland in '17 while losing to Carolina also last year. Since 2010 the Jets are 7-3 in green/green.

Pete Morelli is refereeing his 16th Jets game since 2003. Among the Jets games he's officiated are the 2010 MNF game vs. Minnesota, the '10 regular-season win at Pittsburgh, and the 2015 home win over Washington. His last Jets game was the Saturday night home loss to Miami in 2016.
