The Jets earned 398 total yards versus the Lions, 189 passing and 221 rushing, a season high for the Jets. Their previous high was 393, recorded in Week One at Tennessee.

The Jets had a season high 27 first downs against the Lions. The Jets' previous high was 24 at Tennessee in Week One.

The Jets 31 points are the most they have scored this season. The previous high was 28 against the Colts and the Bills.

The Jets scored 14 points on two touchdowns in the first quarter. The last time the Jets had multiple touchdowns in the first quarter was September 19, 2004 at San Diego.

The Jets ground game earned a season high 221 yards versus the Lions. The feat was led by Leon Washington 129 yards on 20 carries, followed by Kevan Barlow's 49 yards on 12 carries. It was the Jets' first 200-yard rushing game since 2004 when the team ran for 229 yards against Seattle on December 19. The Jets run game also earned three touchdowns in one game for the first time this season.

Safety Erik Coleman recorded a season-high 10 tackles.

Quarterback Chad Pennington reached the 10,000 career-yards mark late in the second with a 23-yard pass to Jerricho Cotchery. Pennington closed the game with 189 yards and now stands at 10,071 for his career. Pennington is only the fifth Jet to accomplish this feat. He joins the ranks of Joe Namath, Ken O'Brien, Richard Todd and Vinny Testaverde. Pennington remains fifth on the Jets' all-time passers list.

Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery set a career-high in receptions with seven. His previous high was six, reached most recently in Week Two versus the New England Patriots.

Rookie Leon Washington scored his first career touchdown on a five-yard run in the first quarter. Washington got the Jets in scoring position with a 23-yard run, the longest of his career and the longest by a Jet this season. Later in the game Washington ran the ball in from 16 yards, the Jets' longest touchdown run of the season. Washington ended the afternoon with 129 yards rushing on 20 carries.

Dewayne Robertson registered his first sack of the season when he dropped Jon Kitna for a loss of eight yards. Robertson now has nine career sacks. Robertson finished the game with six tackles and a forced fumble in addition to his sack.

Justin McCareins caught his first touchdown pass of the season while simultaneously bringing down his longest reception of the season on a 44-yard pass from Pennington. It was also McCareins' longest reception as a Jet.

Jonathan Vilma picked off his first interception of the season on the Lions first drive of the second half. Vilma has five career interceptions. He also finished with a team-leading 11 tackles. It is the fourth time this season Vilma has recorded double-digit tackles and the 18th time in his career he has led the team in tackles.

Wide receiver Laveranues Coles picked up his first rush since 2004 with a 15-yard run for a first down. The run helped set-up a 33-yard field goal by Mike Nugent.

Kicker Mike Nugent kicked his third consecutive 33-yard field goal. Nugent is currently 5-7, connecting on 71.4% of his kicks.
