The New York Jets (1-7) will host the Cleveland Browns (2-6) at MetLife Stadium on Sunday in Week 10.
Let's take a deeper look at what to expect from the Jets' next opponent.
A Tale of Two Units
The Browns will take on the Green & White this week after a loss to the Patriots in Week 8, 32-12, and Week 9 bye. And over the Browns' last eight games, the elite play of their defense has been overshadowed by subpar play on offense.
The Browns have the third-lowest scoring offense in the NFL this season, averaging 15.8 points per game; , and the second-fewest yards allowed on defense, 276.9 yards per game.
Cleveland made a change at quarterback four games into the season, benching the since-traded veteran Joe Flacco for rookie Dillon Gabriel, a third-round pick in April's NFL Draft (No. 94).
The move, however, has done little to spark the Browns' unit. Gabriel, a lefty, has completed 59.9% of his passes for 702 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions over 6 games (4 starts). Cleveland has averaged 17.5 points per game during Gabriel's starts.
Rookie RB Quinshon Judkins has been a bright spot on offense. Judkins, following his 3-game suspension to begin the season, has run for 486 yards (4.1 yards per attempt) and 5 touchdowns in 7 games.

The Browns are No. 9 in rushing yards this season (754) and in Cleveland's 2 wins, 31-6 over the Dolphins and a 13-10 victory against the Packers, they rushed for 130-plus yards in each.
On Monday, Cleveland HC Kevin Stefanski announced that he would be relinquishing play-calling duties to OC Tommy Rees. Rees will try to help Cleveland find greater offensive consistency against the Jets.
While the Browns' offense has been a mixed bag at times, Stefanski's team has been able to rely on its top-rated defense, led by Myles Garrett, the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year.
Garrett is second in the NFL in sacks (11) and first in tackles for loss (15). As a unit, Cleveland is ninth in rushing yards allowed (94.3) and fifth in pass yards allowed (182.6).
The secondary is led by Pro Bowl CB Denzel Ward, and safeties Ronnie Hickman Jr. and Greg Newsome II. Ward led the NFL with 19 pass defenses last season and leads the team with 5 this year.
In addition, Cleveland has gotten production from rookies DL Mason Graham and LB Carson Schwesinger. Graham, the fifth overall pick in the draft, has 2 sacks to go with 17 tackles and 2 TFL while Schwesinger leads the team in tackles (64).
