Jets Sign 9 to Reserve/Future Contracts

Among the Signees Are Two 2015 Jets Draft Picks, G Jarvis Harrison & DT Deon Simon

The Jets have signed nine players, among them 2015 draft choices Jarvis Harrison and Deon Simon, to reserve/future contracts. All nine players were on the Jets' practice squad at the end of the season.

WR Joe Anderson (6'1", 196), Texas Southern — Anderson made his NFL entrance as an undrafted free agent with Chicago in 2012 and played in nine games with the Bears in 2012-13. After a brief 2014 offseason stay with the Eagles, he was out of football until the Jets brought him to their practice squad Dec. 22.

OLB Deion Barnes (6'4", 255), Penn State — Barnes came to the Jets as an undrafted free agent from the Nittany Lions, was a final cut, then was signed to the Jets practice squad Sept. 6 and has been with the team the entire season.

TE Brandon Bostick (6'3", 250), Newberry — Bostick began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with Green Bay in 2012, had nine receptions and two touchdowns in 2013-14 combined, and stayed with the Packers until his release this past offseason. He spent time in Minnesota's training camp and on Arizona's practice squad before signing with the Jets practice squad Dec. 8.

G Jarvis Harrison (6'4", 330), Texas A&M — Harrison was the Jets' fifth-round pick last May. He spent the first seven weeks on the active roster but was deactivated for each game, then was waived and signed to the practice squad Nov. 9.

OLB Julian Howsare (6'3", 255), Clarion — Howsare came to the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Division II Clarion. In training camp he also transitioned to fullback. He was a final cut, signed to the practice squad Sept. 6, released Nov. 4 and re-signed to the P-squad Nov. 26.

TE Wes Saxton (6'4", 235), South Alabama —Saxton was an undrafted FA, a final cut, then a practice-squad signee. He was brought up to the active roster due to Jeff Cumberland's knee injury and played 12 plays on offense in the win over Miami in London, then was waived and re-signed to the practice squad Oct. 13.

CB Kevin Short (6'2", 185), Fort Scott CC — Short was in the Chiefs' training camp and spent two months on the Seahawks' practice squad before being released and signed to the Jets' P-squad Nov. 19.

NT Deon Simon (6'4", 332), Northwestern State — Simon was the Green & White's seventh-round pick. He began the season on the active roster but was inactive for the first three games, then was waived and signed to the practice squad Oct. 1.

OLB Julian Stanford, Wagner —Stanford began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with Jacksonville in 2012 and played in 16 games with six starts for the Jaguars as a rookie. He also played 18 games in 2013-14 with the Lions and had two stints this year on the Buccaneers practice squad before coming to the Green & White P-squad Dec. 1.
