On deciding on a name for his son…
We hadn't really sat down and came up with a name. It was a surprise, we didn't find out the baby's sex until birth, so it was like wait until we, my wife and I, to flip him over to we could actually see what we had. It was a boy and there were a couple of names we were debating on and Tori was mentioned way back. It was either going to be Tice or Titus and Tori sounded pretty good, so we took Tori and now we are just looking for the middle name.

On the baby's height and weight…
Eight, eight (8lbs, 8 oz.). I think he was 20 inches.

On how much sleep he got last night…
I got a little bit, but he was up most of the night. It was the first night and he was pretty hungry.

On waiting to find out if the baby is a boy or girl being like waiting to find out if you're starting…
I guess you could say that. Just waiting to see, what is it? What's going to happen?

On it good to be back at practice…
Oh yeah, it's good to be back, good to be here with the fellas and focus on the task at hand.

On lack of success playing the Bills in Buffalo…
I don't know. It's a different year. You can't worry about what happened in the past. This year is a clean slate, it's the first time. In Buffalo we're 0-0. We're going to go up there with that mind frame and come out of there with a victory.

On the progress of the running game in practice…
In practice we're improving. It fits better and we're hitting the holes better. You can never tell until you actually play the game.

New York Jets' WR Laveranues Coles, 9.22

On how he feels…
I feel alright. I feel the same every day. I'm always smiling, right?

On his participation in yesterday's practice…
I was involved in as much of it (practice) as they (the team) asked me to be yesterday at practice. I'll do the same today, whatever they ask me to do I'll do. That's pretty much it, I feel okay. I'm going to do whatever I can to get back. I'm going to leave it at that.

New York Jets' LB Jonathan Vilma, 9.22

On being responsible for making more plays on the RB in the old defense…
Depends on how they ran the ball. They could have decided to run Mike Lead the whole game and I wouldn't have made any tackles, it just depends on what the offense wants to do.

On his adjustment to the 3-4…
It's been pretty good. I'm working hard to get it and it's not going to take only a training camp and two games for me to feel I have it down.

On it being frustrating switching defenses after having success in the old system…
(It's) not frustrating at all. It's just another challenge that I go through. If I play well, I'll be able to say I play 4-3, 3-4, whatever defense you put me in.

On how he has faired in the new scheme…
I think I've done a pretty good job.

On what the new defense requires him to do…
The biggest thing is a little more gap control. The 4-3 you're able to run laterally. In the 3-4 you don't do that as much. There are opportunities to do it, but you don't do it as much.
