Woody Johnson Statement on William Clay Ford

William Clay Ford Sr., 88, owner of the Detroit Lions for the past half century, has died of pneumonia.

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson issued the following statement today upon Ford's passing.

"We would like to extend our condolences to the family of William Clay Ford Sr.," Johnson said. "A tremendous owner, his guidance and passion for the Lions spanned more than 50 years. Our NFL community will certainly miss him."
