Tackle Patrick Brown Waived

The New York Jets have waived tackle Patrick Brown. The announcement was made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

Brown (6'5", 310) joined the Jets after he was claimed off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 5, and was inactive for the first two games of the season. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Carolina Panthers in 2009. He started 50 straight games at left tackle for Central Florida and earned All-Conference USA second-team honors. In 2009 he spent the first two weeks of the season as a member of the New England Patriots practice squad before joining the Vikings practice squad for the final 13 weeks and the postseason.
