Football season is not yet upon us, but 2006 standout rookie players D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold will team up once again on Thursday, May 3rd in an effort to tackle hunger at the Fifth Annual New York Jets Taste of the NFL Benefit.

Ferguson and Mangold will be joined by more than a dozen teammates and celebrities to sample food from some of the region's best restaurants including NOBU, Dos Caminos, Strip House, Osteria Del Circo and more.

But, that's not all. In addition to the great food, specialty cocktails, and the opportunity to rub elbows with past and present Jets players, guests will also participate in both silent and live auctions for the chance to take home unique items including autographed memorabilia, jewelry, local dining opportunities, and getaway packages.

The auction will also include two unique creations by Charles Fazzino, commemorative artist of the 2007 Jets Taste event. Not only will guests have the opportunity to bid on these whimsical and exquisitely detailed images, but Fazzino himself will also be on hand to showcase additional pieces.

The benefit sponsored by the New York Jets, ShopRite and Kraft raises money and awareness in the fight against hunger. All proceeds benefited ShopRite Partners In Caring, a year-round community based program that fights hunger in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Delaware. In the past four years, the Jets have raised more than $475,000 for ShopRite Partners in Caring.

This year's benefit will take place at a new location and tickets are on sale now! Don't wait to buy your tickets for the opportunity to meet your favorite players while nibbling on fantastic food.

The event will take place from 7-10 PM at GUASTAVINOS which is located at 409 E. 59th Street (and 1st Avenue) in New York City. General admission tickets are $250 and a limited number of VIP tickets are $400. For details or to buy tickets email us at taste@newyorkjets.com, call 212-485-8050 or purchase your tickets online.
