For 10 weeks during the football season the Jets and Gatorade present the High School Coach of the Week award to a coach in the tri-state area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to his community, his school and his student-athletes. Gatorade and the Jets award each winner with a $2,000 check for their high school's football program. In addition to the weekly award, a Coach of the Year is selected at the end of the high school season. The Coach of the Year winner is awarded $4,000 and receives a Gatorade cooler cart from the Jets and Gatorade.
