Returns for His Third Season in Green & White After Arriving on Waivers from the Colts in '13

Offensive tackle Ben Ijalana has re-signed with the Jets.

Ijalana (6'4", 322), who has been with the Jets the past two seasons, became an unrestricted free agent on March 10. He came to the Jets via waivers on Sept. 1, 2013, after he was a final cut by Indianapolis.

He was a gameday deactivation for all 16 games in '13 and the first six games last season. Then he finally saw his first regular-season action since his rookie season of 2011 when he was in for two plays in each of three road games — at Kansas City, Minnesota and Tennessee. He was active but did not play in the other eight games last year.

Ijalana entered the NFL as a second-round selection (49th overall) of the Colts in 2011 and played in four games for them that year.

He's been a denizen of the I-95 corridor for most of his life. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ, played his high school ball at Rancocas Valley in Mount Holly, NJ, and his college ball at Villanova.
