The Jets have released veteran T Breno Giacomini.

Giacomini started 32 games for the Jets at RT in 2014-15. He was limited to five games last season due to a back ailment.

A fifth-round pick of the Green Bay Packers in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Louisville product appeared in two games for the Packers and spent some time on the Green Bay practice squad before signing with the Seattle Seahawks on Sep. 29, 2010.  He also was a member of the practice squad in Seattle before breaking through as a starter in 2011 and he went on to make 40 regular-season starts. Giacomini started all three postseason contests for the 'Hawks in 2012 including the team's 43-8 Super Bowl XLVIII triumph over the Denver Broncos.

After signing with the Jets on March 13, 2014, Giacomini helped block for the NFL's third-best rushing offense while starting all 16 games for the first time in his career. Then in 2015, Giacomini was part of an offense that established a new franchise mark for total yards (5,896).

The 6'7", 318-pound Giacomini was on the team's reserve/PUP list for the first seven games of the regular season with a back injury. He then made five starts but re-injured his back in a Week 13 contest against the Colts.
