The Jets added a fourth safety to their roster Tuesday, inking a deal with free agent Antonio Allen.

Allen, who signed with the Houston Texans in March and was released on Sep. 3, was originally a seventh-round selection (No. 242 overall) by the Jets in 2012 NFL Draft. The South Carolina product was healthy for three seasons with the Green & White, collecting 110 tackles (82 solo), 13 PDs and 1 INT that he returned for a TD against the Patriots in Week 7 matchup in 2013.  The 6'1", 210-pound Allen appeared in 38 games with the Green & White, starting 18 and he missed the 2015 season after suffering an Achilles injury during training camp.

While Rontez Miles is backing up Calvin Pryor at SS, Allen figures to be listed on the depth chart behind Marcus Gilchrist.
