Just moments before the NFL's trade deadline, the Jets acquired CB Rashard Robinson from the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the club's 2018 fifth-round pick.

The 6'1", 177-pound Robinson, an LSU product who was a fourth-round selection San Francisco in 2016, started seven games this season and collected an interception along with seven pass defenses. Appearing in 14 games his rookie season, Robinson started six contests and had an interception along with eight pass defenses.

"I think he fits any defense. He's a ball player, so he can adjust, he can adapt," said WR Jeremy Kerley, who was a teammate of Robinson's in 'Frisco last season.

Both Kerley, and rookie S Jamal Adams, a college teammate of Robinson's, praised the new Jets defensive back's energy and swagger.

"Aggressive, can play man-to-man. Long, rangy, he has all the tools to be on the of the best," said Adams following the deal.

In 20 games at LSU, Robinson registered 33 tackles, one interception and four pass defenses.

With a Thursday night clash against the Bills on the horizon, the Jets are dealing with a few injuries at the cornerback position. Veteran CB Morris Claiborne (foot) did not practice for a second consecutive day and fellow corner Buster Skrine was limited but needs to pass a couple of final steps to get out of concussion protocol.
